RRB NTPC · Question 2
A sum of Rs 2600 was lent in two parts in such a way that the simple interest on the first part at 10% per annum for 5 years is equal to the interest on the second part at 9% per annum for 6 years. What share is lent at 10%?
Show answer & explanation
Answer: (D) Rs. 1350
Explanation
Let x be lent at 10%. x × 10 × 5/100 = (2600 − x) × 9 × 6/100, so 50x = 54(2600 − x) and 104x = 140400. x = Rs 1350.
