RRB NTPC · Question 6
A question and three statements labeled (I), (II) and (III) are given. You have to decide which statement(s) is / are sufficient to answer the question. Question: Who is the shortest among P, Q, R, S and T? Statements: I. P is taller than T but shorter than S. II. Q is shorter than R but taller than T. III. S is taller than R and P is taller than Q. Select the right option from the following.
Show answer & explanation
Answer: (C) Statement II and either I or III are sufficient
Explanation
II gives T < Q < R. With I (T < P < S), T is shorter than P, Q, R and also S (through P), so T is the shortest. With III (R < S, Q < P) as well, T < Q < P and T < Q < R < S, so again T is the shortest. II with either I or III is sufficient.
